Why 7-letter words matter

In many Scrabble-style games, using all seven tiles can trigger a large bonus. That makes 7-letter words especially valuable, but only if the board position allows a good play.

Common 7-letter patterns

Look for endings such as -ING, -ED, -ER, -ERS and -EST. Also watch for prefixes such as RE-, UN-, IN- and DE-. These patterns can quickly reveal a hidden word.
